Great news - I may be very late with this but I just found out that 'The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend' will be turning into a movie! It's set to be released in 2015.

I read the DUFF last year and I absolutely loved it! It's one of my favourite books and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to recommend this book to you before it hits the theatres.

The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.

Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

I highly recommend you give this one a go, it's a great book for all you girls who have suffered with the problems of insecurity with our looks - and that's all of us! - and all the other issues from the days of school drama. Kody Keplinger is an author you should check out, with her other books Shut Out and A Midsummer's Nightmare, she's got a great writing style that'll have you hooked. The DUFF is an easy and entertaining read with some lovable characters. A great summer read..

For more about the movie, check out the IMDB page but it's still early days yet. Let's hope for a good and loyal adaptation! Fingers crossed.

Robbie Amell will be playing Wesley and Mae Whitman will be Bianca, our two main leads. I'm quite pleased with this casting, they look just how I pictured them. Thoughts? Have you read the book yet? And will you be seeing the movie? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter and Facebook!
